Story
I have decided to make a difference by creating my very own fundraising page for Melanoma March. Through here you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation. All funds raised will go towards Melanoma Institute Australia’s life-saving research.
Melanoma Institute Australia's research resulted in my own Stage IV melanoma, diagnosed in 2014, being treated in a clinical trial of combined immunotherapy drugs. At the time of diagnosis I was given an average life expectancy of 18 months which was quite confronting.
In November 2025 Professor Georgina Long, my oncologist, gave me the fantastic news that after 11 years of close monitoring my cancer had not returned and that I would be discharged from the Melanoma Institute Australia.
The challenge ahead is to achieve a similar result for all melanoma sufferers and the ultimate goal of zero deaths from melanoma.
